Today Match Prediction for PBKS vs BLR Dream11:It is a battle between teams of contrasting fate on 30 April in IPL 2021. Royal Challengers Bangalore, despite imbalances in their squad are enjoying tremendous success. They are sitting in the third place in the points table with 5 wins in 6 games. Punjab Kings on the other hand, haven’t clicked as one unit despite a strong squad and have won only 2 of their six games. They are 6th in the points table. RCB come to this match riding on confidence while PBKS are cornered and have plenty of questions to answer. Punjab’s middle order has misfired while their bowling hasn’t been up to the mark. For RCB, the personnel in top order have stepped up when it mattered while the likes of Harshal Patel have delivered the punch in bowling. More importantly, this contest is interesting as G Maxwell will be playing against his previous franchise. That is some entertainment!
If certificates were issued for classic matches played in the IPL, Punjab would end up with quite a few of them in their cabinet. But the franchise would happily bargain those certificates for consistency. In their last three games, Punjab Kings have overcome defending champions Mumbai Indians but also slipped to losses against fellow stragglers Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders.
Tactics & Match-ups: De Villiers has been RCB's go-to man in the slog overs. Between overs 16 to 20, his strike rate was 231.58 versus MI, 261.9 against KKR and 235 vs DC. KKR tried to use Andre Russell to stop de Villiers' pyrotechnics. The template was for Russell to bowl yorkers from round the wicket and wide of the off-stump. However, he was poor in his execution. PBKS have Arshdeep Singh in their ranks to try that particular tactic. Incidentally, PBKS have taken the lowest number of wickets in the slog this season and have conceded 10.24 runs per over in that period.
Playing Combination: The duo of KL Rajul and M Agarwal will open the innings while the likes of C Gayle and N Pooran will form the middle order. R Meredith, M Shami and J Saxena will be lead pacers.
Punjab Kings Playing 11 (likely)
KL Rahul has a strike-rate of only 129.03. But he is averaging a solid 48.00 in this tournament and has piled up 240 runs in 6 games. He is the third-highest run-scorer this season. He has slammed 3 fifties in 6 innings. Expect him to add more runs on a true pitch at Ahemdabad.
M Shami hasn’t picked up a bagful of wickets. However, he has been effective. He claimed 1 wicket for 24 runs in 4 overs in the previous game. He has 7 wickets in 6 games this season and has a strike-rate of 18.85.
Player Availability: RCB have already roped in Scott Kuggeleijn to mitigate the loss of Kane Richardson. RCB look set to play the same XI that overcame DC. The one slight area of concern is Virat Kohli's form. The RCB skipper has had a middling season so far, with 163 runs and at a strike rate of 126.35.
Tactics & Matchups: KL Rahul averages the highest (74.2) and has the best strike rate (155.23) against RCB. From RCB's point of view, they could employ Washington Sundar's off-spin to keep Rahul quiet. Even though the sample size is small, Rahul has scored only 17 runs off 18 balls while facing Sundar in the IPL. Another interesting match-up is Mayank Agarwal versus Yuzvendra Chahal, with the former accumulating 56 off just 27 balls against the leg-spinner in the IPL.
Royal Challengers Bangalore Playing 11
AB de Villiers has once again emerged as RCB’s biggest match-winner. He has played two match-winning knocks in his last 3 innings. 75* against DC and 76* vs KKR. He has scored 204 runs this season in 5 innings at a glorious average of 68.00 but most importantly he is striking at a phenomenal rate of 174.35.
G Maxwell would enjoy batting on Ahmebadab pitch and considering the form he is in, he could be very destructive. He has made 223 runs this season at an average of 44.60 and has a sensational strike-rate of 145.75. He has scored two fifties in 5 innings.
In PBKS vs BLR Dream11 match prediction, BLR has the clear advantage as their top order is in fine form and PBKS doesn’t have the bowling firepower to restrict them. So expect BLR to win this game.
