Google and Samsung are now competing to provide the longest software support for their devices. With the launch of the Galaxy S24 lineup, Samsung has committed to offering seven years of Android updates, aligning with Google’s promise for its new Pixel phones. Samsung has pledged at least three years of Android updates for all flagship models from 2019 onwards, extending to four years for many devices, including tablets, foldables, and budget Galaxy A-series phones.
